Beyond Parking: What 1,000+ Live Sessions in Saskatoon Taught Us

October 2026 · By Muhammad Omer Khan, Founder & CEO

From February 1 to April 5, 2026, we ran a live pilot of an early, app-based version of A-Pulse® in Saskatoon, working with a parking operator and an independent fuel retailer.

We wanted to answer one question: if drivers had a single vehicle identity for payments, would they use it across different kinds of stops?

The numbers

  • 1,000+ live sessions
  • 128 drivers and 205 registered vehicles
  • About 7.8 sessions per driver
  • An average transaction of CAD $17.75, with fuel transactions averaging CAD $46

Drivers used it everywhere

Usage split roughly 50% parking, 30% fuel, and 19% EV charging. Drivers did not treat the platform as a parking app. They treated their vehicle as a payment identity, and used it wherever it was accepted. That is the core idea behind V-Commerce™.

What we learned

A pilot is only useful if you are honest about what did not work. We found three main gaps:

  • Pricing varied across sites, which made the experience less predictable for drivers.
  • Fuel transactions still required manual validation.
  • Drivers wanted more payment method options.

What comes next

These lessons shape our next phase: in-vehicle hardware, GPS and NFC validation, and passive authentication, so the vehicle can be recognized without the driver doing anything at all.

Saskatoon showed us that the demand is real. Now we are building the version that makes payment truly invisible.
